Welcome

Welcome to The Church of The Good Shepherd

We are a welcoming friendly church of all ages learning to love God and demonstrate His love to our neighbours. As a church we are growing and seeking God’s will for our community as we pray and study His word together.

Our hope and prayer is to see God’s kingdom come here in Arbury, King’s Hedges and Orchard Park and for lives to be transformed by the love of Jesus.

Church services and events

Sunday Morning

8:30am, Said Holy Communion

Join us for this simple communion service with no hymns.  Held in the chapel the service lasts about 30 mins. (Restarts on 12 Jan.)

10am, Family communion

All are welcome to join us for a communion service with hymns and songs. We have our children's and young peoples group 'inside/outside'. We all start together in the church and then those who want to can go outside for the groups.  The service is projected on the screen and no booklets are handed out. Large print copies of the service are available on request if you have problems with your vision. Refreshments are served in the church after the service.

We have had an interpreted service for the Deaf on the first Sunday in each month. Unfortunately we are unable to continue this and the last one will be Sunday 2 March.

Details of the service, church notices and other items of interest to the congregation are distributed in a weekly e-mail. To be added onto the list, or for any queries about church services, please e-mail Ruth at  enquiries@churchofthegoodshepherd.co.uk.

Safeguarding

The parish of Chesterton: The Good Shepherd is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops' guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Ely’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advises our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.   The PCC has adopted the Church of England’s policies and best practice on safeguarding which may be found on the Church of England’s website. The Diocese  safeguarding policy can be read here.
